AM I A POTENTIAL GAPPER?

It’s hard to believe there was a time when I had no interest in travel but it’s true. During my uni years I was determined to crack into my career and make it to the top - that was until I handed in my last assignment and realised I was not ready to start a career that I wasn’t sure was right for me. I didn't have a clue what to do and then it hit me... head overseas. I was going to take a gap year!

Gap years are usually associated with high-school leavers but the truth is there are plenty of people out there who could be considering taking a year out and seeing the world. Those people who are restless and unsure of the path want to take or unsure of the path they are already on - take a moment, take a deep breath and take a gap year - trust me, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made!

The High School Graduate
You’ve just spent the past thirteen years or so in school working hard towards your final exams and now that it is all over you don’t know whether to laugh or cry. If the idea of going straight into another four years of study is freaking you out or if you have no idea what you should be doing with the year ahead - check out the gap year options available to you - 2008 just got a whole lot more exciting!

The 2nd Year University Student
You were certain when you applied for the PE teaching degree that it suited you down to the ground but after a year of dealing with dead bodies in anatomy you aren’t so sure this is the course for you. Take a year to work in a number of different fields in Ireland and maybe you'll get more of an insight into what you want to do - while having the time of your life!

The Bored Worker
The monotony of every work day getting you down? Do you count down the hours til the weekend and have that feeling there might be a job out there you would actually love if you could just figure out what it is? A gap year is an excellent option to take some time to figure out what you're interested in and gain some valuable international work experience which is going to impress potential employers when you come home.

The Hopeful Traveller
Are you pushing the big three oh? Have you spent the last ten years making promises to yourself that you will take that working holiday... once uni is over, once you have some work experience under your belt... once the mortgage is paid off...

The time to take a year out is NOW. Working holiday visas do have cut off age limits and you do not want to miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime. You have the rest of your life to live in Australia - head overseas now and live it up on a working holiday.

The Confused Uni Graduate
This was me, unsure of what sort of job I wanted, a bit burnt out and not ready to join the rat-race just yet. Before you have commitments you can't get out of, take off now! You have your degree, you've got some work experience now the world is your oyster!

Have you taken a gap year or are you planning on it and fall under a totally different heading?  Send me an email and let me know what drove you to an awesome overseas working holiday.
