The Perks of London Work!

So I am pretty much settled in at work and at home now. I know all the good ways to get to work, sometimes I walk, it takes almost an hour, but it is really a lovely walk, unless it is cold. I have been getting to know Fulham, the area where I live. It is a really nice place, full of cafes, restaurants and bars, I have been discovering new ones every weekend.

Through work I have found out we have a free staff canteen, as the health club I work in is linked to a five star hotel. Which is going to save me an enormous amount of money, and already has. No more running to Starbucks and spending £5 for a coffee and sandwich! Finding out about this free canteen was the highlight of my week.

A customer at work decided to shout all the receptionists tickets to see Alicia Keys as well, which was very nice! So last Friday night, I hopped on the tube with my friend, and girls from work, and off we went to East London to the O2 arena to see Alicia Keys in a massive concert. Amazing, she was fantastic! Even better when you haven't spent alot of money on a ticket! I have never been a person to think about money so much, but you have to or your money will disappear in London, everything is so expensive!

I have booked in for an appointment to get my NI (National Insurance) number. The appointment I was given was almost a month away from when I called, so there is no rush, I'm not too worried, as long as it has been booked, it should be fine. They asked on the phone if I wanted the appointment near home or work, so they can be fairly accommodating for your requirements which is good.

I have been Salsa dancing at one of the local pubs, near my place, which was fantastic. It was like stepping back in time to school days when we were made to do dancing for sport - the males all have to move around and swap partners, while the girls laugh about who is coming up, or who they have just danced with. More fun than school as well because you can have had a beer or two! It didn't matter that I couldn't dance to save myself, it was more for a laugh and a bit of excercise.

I have also spent alot of time thinking about where to holiday next. I booked some flights to Turkey for ANZAC day which is sure to be amazing. I keep asking everyone at work and flatmates where they think I should go for a short trip to, everyone has their favourite place. That is one thing I have noticed - if you ask, people will put in their opinion, or offer you advice, or they might just know someone who knows something about what you are asking. So I just ask.
