Cass’s Insurance Horror
Story…(with a happy ending)
I
was snowboarding at Mammoth on my day off when I overshot a jump
in the terrain park. My knee was dislocated but I managed to pop
it back in myself. I went to the doctor and they told me I was
going to have to pay up front - luckily I had my emergency insurance
details on hand. The doctor confirmed it was dislocated, strapped
it and told me to rest up. Not a lot of help, but they still charged
me $1000 for the consultation!
In an effort to rest my knee I transferred indoors
and worked at the creche. It was in the safety of the kids’
room that I slipped on a rubber frog toy though. , my knee bent
to the side, snapped and broke in three places. I snapped the
ACL and tore the cartilage....
