Forrestel is a residential summer camp where children can pursue a wide range of activities in addition to specialising in horse-riding. Forrestel is set in spectacular scenery and boasts both a highly respected equestrian program as well as a range of sports and adventure activities.

Location: Medina, about 7-8 hours north-west of New York City.

Campers: Boys and girls aged 7-16.

Counsellors (that's you): Forrestel camp hires camp counsellors from all over the world, with a ratio of 4 campers to each staff member.

Activities: Forrestel runs a comprehensive range of activities, divided into three programs:

The equestrian program: The children ride once a day and also have the opportunity to pursue a range of other activities for the rest of the day.

The advanced horsemanship program: The children ride twice a day and focus exclusively on horse-riding although being involved with the other activities as well.

The sports and outdoor adventure program: The children totally focus on sports and outdoor adventure activities all of the time.

I really do have so many wonderful memories while at camp. I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in a number of sports and outdoor adventure activities as well as horse riding- such as canoeing and rock climbing. The best thing about Forrestel camp is the location- set on an 800 acre farm surrounded by blue stone walls, there is always something to do in the most beautiful of surroundings. The barn and the farm house really look like something out of a movie. A lot of the time, it was hard to believe that I was actually there!”
