SO WHAT
DOES IEP'S SUMMER CAMP USA INVOLVE?
"To be a camp counsellor
is the most rewarding job on earth. You form all sorts
of friendships with campers and other camp staff and you learn
a lot about cultures and people". -
Jana, Camp Hidden Lake
What does IEP's Summer Camp USA include?
As a first time participant on IEP's
Summer Camp USA, you will receive:
-
Individual
Placement:
We pride ourselves on being the only camp placement organisation
in Australia that individually places participants at camps
best suited to their talents, skills and camp choices. That
means BUNAC (IEP's US partner) will represent you individually
to carefully selected camps, based on more than 40 years
experience at matching participants and camps.
-
Salary:
An excellent base salary for Australian counsellors: US$1715
(US$1615 if you're under 21 and at least US$2200 if you're
a returner). Other programs offer higher specialist wages
but require you to gain and pay for accreditation and training
in the USA.
-
Free
Transport to Camp: Transport from New York to your
summer camp at no extra hassle to you. You pay for your
transport to camp from New York, and your camp will reimburse
the cost.
-
More
Camps: BUNAC has access to the American camping
conventions where thousands of camp directors will be recruiting
staff. Why settle for just a job fair?
-
More
Training: As an IEP summer camper, you'll receive
comprehensive orientations before leaving Australia and
when you arrive in New York. If you want to learn more skills
in whatever area that you teach at summer camp, IEP can
help you out.
-
Superior
service:
The Summer Camp USA application process is no picnic,
and you'll be pleased to know that you can call us anytime
and get the right advice. Together with our partner BUNAC,
we have over 40 years experience recruiting for US summer
camps. Because of our individual placement service, IEP/BUNAC
has an outstanding reputation with camp directors which
means our logo on your application form will make you stand
out from the rest.
-
Insurance:
Three months fully comprehensive travel and medical insurance
valued at A$650 is included in your program fee. Insurance
can be extended for up to two years!
