ELIGIBILITY

For most Australian passport holders you will need to apply for the Youth Mobility Scheme in order to participate on the Work Britain programs. 

Eligibility for the two year Youth Mobility Scheme is as follows:

• Be aged between 18 and 30 years inclusive (if you are already 30 years old you must apply before you turn 31)
• Be a Commonwealth citizen
• Hold an Australian passport valid for at least 6 months beyond date of departure from Britain (ie 30 months from date of entry)
• Have evidence to show proof of funds of £1600
• Have evidence of accommodation if arranged

If you have financial commitments (i.e. loans), criminal convictions, or current charges pending, you will need to provide further documentation to the British High Commission. It is your responsibility to satisfy the Entry Clearance Officer that you qualify under the immigration rules in the category for which you are applying. 

The British High Commission is currently taking approximately 30 working days to process a Youth Mobility Scheme visa once the application has been received at the British High Commission.
