WORK &
SKI CANADA - PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK
A BIG thanks to all of our Work
& Ski Canada Job Fair participants who have taken the time to provide us with some feedback about their experiences in
Canada. As you can see our participants had some awesome times
and are buzzing with tales to tell about their dealings with
IEP and about their Canadian adventures. Read on for some inspiration
for your own Canadian escapade and be sure to get the
ball rolling here!
Panorama Mountain Village
“IEP members were giving top priority
in staff accommodation which was awesome as there were many
staff that were put on the waiting list that didn’t go
through IEP.” Christel, Panorama Mountain Village
“First of all I'd like to thank all the
people involved in your organisation for helping me (and countless
others) get here to Canada (and I guess other places in the
world) for such a great opportunity. I've just been having a
ball over here so far. It's just be frickin’ incredible,
and it would not have been possible without the help of you
folks. All the staff were really helpful and the process went
really smoothly.” Adrian, Panorama Mountain Village

“Panorama (pano) is awesome. There is
snow everywhere and everyone is telling us this is the best
start to the season in 25 years. How good did I pick - a season
in Canada! Have been working and playing really hard ….
having an awesome time" Gordon, Panorama Mountain Village.
"The best part about being in Panorama is that all the other mountains like Kicking Horse or Lake Louise are so accessible. You only have to sit through a 2 hour bus ride and you have a whole new experience waiting for you" Whitney, Panorama Mountain Village. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
“I think it's a great program, and a really
valuable service that you provide. Thanks for getting me to
the best ski season in 50 years!” Lara, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
“Canada has such definitive seasons and
it’s just amazing to see the world turn. The ski hill
will be closed as of 8 April so the closing parties have now
started! The staff get a day on the hill by themselves with
no general public so that will be one awesome day. I’ve
got some exciting travel plans - but boy this place has made
a big dent in my memories. I hope to come back in summer and
then come back one day to snowboard the awesome powder!" Jess, Kicking Horse Mountain resort

about their time at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort - visit

“We are having an awesome time over here
and have absolutely fallen in love with the place, but how can
you not. Spending our time snowboarding and rockclimbing - I
couldn’t think of anything better.” Libby, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
“Golden is absolutely spectacular, the
views are simply breathtaking everywhere you look. The locals
are great, I’ve been here 3 weeks and I’m already
mixing with a great bunch of people.” Hannah, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
“Everyone was super-friendly, knowledgeable
and totally helpful, even when I had the most stupid or simple
questions.” Lucas, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort
“Working for Fairmont means you get awesome
discounts at the other hotels… We did a road trip around
part of the Canadian Rockies to ski and have fun. The scenery
was great, we went to Lake Louise where we stayed for 2 nights
at the Fairmont. When we checked in they upgraded us to lake-view
rooms on the 6th floor. The scenery of Lake Louise was amazing
and the view from our room was incredible. We had the perfect
view of the lake which was still frozen over and the mountains
surrounding the lake. In Banff we stayed at the Fairmont too,
which was incredible.
Karina, Fairmont Whistler Resort

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
“Typically if I am working an afternoon
shift (start at 2.45pm) I would get up early and head to the
ski hill at around 9am or so and board until about 12.30pm.
Then head back get ready for work. It’s an awesome way
to start your day… The job fair made everything easy and
very informative; also you knew on the day that you had a job,
which helped with planning. I have found IEP a great company
to work with. During the planning stage of my trip I was often
on the phone with questions and they were always happy to help.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of travelling
and working who doesn’t have much time to plan (which
was my case, working full time trying to save as much as possible).” Trevor, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
The Banff Centre
“Just wanted to say thanks very much for
giving me the opportunity to work and travel overseas. It has
been a fantastic experience to work and play in Banff and its
surrounding ski resorts. In my time here in Canada, I have taken
a road trip to kicking horse resort then onto Fernie, Vancouver,
Vancouver Island and Whistler all within my time here. I've
also met plenty of friends who I'm sure will have a place in
my heart for life. So once again thanks and maybe I’ll
need your support again soon in the future.” Anthony Pagano, The Banff Centre.
IEP Job Fair days:
“IEP staff members were constantly making
sure everyone was on time and we were happy with our job offers.”
Renee, Canada Olympic Park
“Having the opportunity to secure both
a job and accommodation before jet-setting overseas was great.
It takes a lot of stress out of the whole process. Instead of
worrying about securing a job and where I was going to sleep,
I could put all my concentration into passport and visa organisation
etc and enjoying time with friends and family.” Talia, Whistler Blackcomb.
“My partner and I have had a fabulous
experience with our winter season in Canada, and having a job
lined up before we left Australia made things so much easier
- thank you IEP for all of your help and advice!” Eve, The Banff Centre.
“The IEP team helped my fiancée
and I greatly and we were able to get involved in the program
even though we were about a month late. Very appreciative of
the assistance.” Alistair, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
"Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity.
From day 1 when I rang to get more info the lady was so positive
and helpful. The day ran smoothly, although I did have to travel
interstate for the interviews as Adelaide was not a destination
chosen to host them. But a huge success in Melbourne....I did
have an amazing time. Every step of my working holiday was a
blast. Thank you for all you did and helped with. It is a wonderful
thing you offer youths." Jessica, Canada Olympic Park
