IEP is stoked to have Sunshine Village join us at our Work & Ski Canada Job Fairs, it is always fantastic to be able to tell our members they have another amazingemployer to choose from that offer some awesome mountain terrain to take advantage of, cool job options and fun staff perks. We decided to have a chat with Sunshine Village and find out what they are really all about and why our members should definitely consider spending their Canadian winter living, working and partying with them.

How would you describe Sunshine Village?

Our resort is set in Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains; one of the most beautiful resort locations in Canada! We have almost 100% natural snow, our season is much longer than other resorts (November to May), and we have the only ski in ski out resort in Banff National Park.

As a resort we offer an amazing skiing opportunity, with terrain that covers everything from green runs for new skiers to those with a thrill for adventure and a passion for powder to hop into the back-country of Delirium Dive. We offer on mountain concert series’, a fantastic and wide variety of staff events and great restaurants. 

Have you ever hired Aussies through a company like IEP?

We hired in Australia many years ago, on a smaller scale. This is the first time we have gone through a company like IEP and we were enticed because we consistently have great quality from our Australian workers year after year here at Sunshine Village.

What’s it like working for Sunshine?

Sunshine is aware that our resort has an excellent reputation because of our past employees. We are here to give our staff a once in a lifetime work and play experience. At Sunshine there is never an "average" working day!

Imagine having a staff pass that gives you access to skiing at some of the greatest resorts (17 last season) in Western Canada. Our amazing and diverse staff events calendar gives employees the opportunity to go on overnight trips to other resorts, day trips and non-skiing activities like Calgary Flames hockey games, shopping trips and paintball. 

Our Employee Recognition program also nominates outstanding staff and thanks them with a monthly dinner and prizes.  As an employer Sunshine wants to promote the whole experience of living in a resort town and working at a ski resort, while helping you to enjoy your job and training you properly.

What is it about IEP’s Work & Ski Canada Job Fairs that interests you?

Through our many years of recruiting, Sunshine has developed a close link with the Australians who have come to work for us. Last year our team was made up of 26% Australia/Oceania employees. We even celebrate Australia Day! By working with IEP we have the chance to increase those numbers. We would like to continue hiring outgoing and friendly people who have great life experiences, both behind and ahead of them!

IEP has had success with other Canadian companies and resorts, and after a discussion with the IEP Executive Director we really felt like the synergy between Sunshine and IEP would be perfect.
