A PANORAMA WINTER SEASON THROUGH WHITNEY'S EYES

I'm employed by Panorama Mountain Village and I live on the hill in Staff Accommodation in Panorama.

I work at the Great Hall as a Guest Attendant which involves anything from bussing tables to working on the registers, stocking shelves and working Catering events.

The reason I chose to come to Canada was because I knew how many places there were to see in Canada, how beautiful it was and how relaxed the people were here, which almost makes it feel like home.  

The best part about being in Panorama is that all the other mountains like Kicking Horse or Lake Louise are so accessible. You only have to sit through a 2 hour bus ride and you have a whole new experience waiting for you.

The lifestyle on the hill is awesome! Most people have to work weekends because it’s the busiest time, which means that during the week is the time for the staff have fun. At Panorama you live in Staff Accommodation so you’re constantly surrounded by everyone you work with which makes the group so much closer. If you want to go shopping there is a staff bus that runs into to town every day. Depending which department you work in you either get 3 days or 2 days off! On those days off most people go riding. Every couple of weeks there are staff trips which only cost about $15 which means you get to ride all the surrounding mountains. 

I think most Australians would love to do a working holiday in Canada because many Australians are out going and there are just so many things to experience here and so many people to meet although a lot of them will be Aussies. However if you don't like the cold then maybe you should rethink your decision because when its -28 and you have to walk to work you really do get to experience the winter.
