What is the Work & Ski Canada Job Fair all about?

Every year IEP invites a range of Canadian winter employers to interview IEP members in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne at the beginning of August.

Work & Ski Canada is all about getting you sorted before you head over to Canada. Aussies planning on rocking up to Canada in November or later with nothing organised will be joining thousands of others from around the world who have the same idea and they will often struggle to land a job and affordable housing.

By joining the Work & Ski Canada program you can lock in two interviews with your top choice of employers before the job fair and then on the day, you can walk away with a job, great seasonal benefits and knowing what sort of housing options are open to you. Get it all sorted before even leaving Australia!

Which Employers Interview and what sort of jobs?
The final list of employers for 2010 is still to be confirmed but past years have included Sunshine Village, The Banff Centre, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Panorama Mountain Village, Asessippi Ski Area & Resort, The Russell Inn, Marmot Basin, Grouse Mountain, Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort and many more!

You don’t need to know how to ski or snowboard to land a job either, (unless of course you want to be an instructor) there are plenty of different positions available eg: food and beverage servers, kitchen staff, housekeeping, track crew, guest services, retail and that is just to name a few.

How Does the Job Fair Work?

Step 1 – Apply online for Work & Ski Canada

Step 2 – Print off the program agreement, sign it and send it in with your payment

Step 3 – Book in your pre-screening interview with IEP
Step 4 – You will receive our Employer Handbook which covers all employers interviewing, jobs available, what benefits are on offer, pay rates, start dates, length of contract etc

Step 5 – Advise IEP of your two employer preferences.

Step 6 - IEP will confirm your emplyers and interview times.
Step 7 - Attend your interviews with at least two employers in your chosen city and find out on the day where you will be working in Canada.

The Work & Ski Canada Job Fair will be held in Brisbane (4 August), Sydney (6 August) and Melbourne (7 August). You MUST be available to attend the Job Fair in person on one of these days.
