Congratulations to IEP's St Partick's Day Competition Winner - Leanne!

St Patrick’s Day has passed for another year and as we celebrated Ireland’s National Day, one IEP member was touched by the luck of the Irish. Work Ireland applicant Leanne was thrilled to receive the news that she had won a 7 Day All Ireland Rocker Tour thanks to Shamrocker Adventures.

By simply applying to the Work Ireland program before Friday 13 March 2009 Leanne went in the running to win this great tour, although she was totally unaware she had entered the competition.

“It’s such a good surprise. I did see something about it on the website but I didn’t think it applied to me because I applied ages ago and now to win it, it’s really exciting.”

Leanne had a taste of the Emerald Isle a few years ago during a one week trip and there were certain aspects of the country that left her longing for more.

“I can’t wait to get back to Galway, I had a great time there a few years ago and I want to spend more time there, a week and a half in Ireland is just not enough. I’m looking forward to that and the accent.” Leanne said.

Despite a real love of Galway, Leanne is planning to set up house in Dublin, as she believes there will be more job opportunities in the bigger city.

“I want to work in admin because I don’t have the coordination to do bar work,” Leanne laughed.

Shamrocker Adventures are well known for their 100% Irish tour guides who make the experience as authentically Irish as possible. Leanne heard of Shamrocker Adventures on her last trip over there.

“I had seen Shamrocker Adventures advertised when I was in Ireland but I was only there for a week so it was too late to book. It did look really good though, so I can’t wait”

Leanne is leaving for Ireland in the middle of April and will be kick-starting her working holiday adventure with the help of the Work Ireland program.

“I applied to IEP’s Work Ireland because I’m too lazy to organise it all myself and it is nice to have someone else do it. I had a friend who worked in Scotland and she told me that there was a lot of hassle involved, so I wanted to go with a company where the people knew what to do and so I could avoid the mistakes she made.”
