Applications for Work USA Old School 2011 are now closed.

If you’re a full time tertiary student who has completed at least your first year of study in 2011 you’re likely to be eligible for Work USA Old School.

APPLICATION TIMELINE

Complete your online application form and send in your program agreement, including proof of student status and reference   3 months+ prior to your departure
Work USA interview with IEP  

1+ week later
Request your visa documentation   2+ weeks later
Finalise logistics (insurance/flights etc...)   3-8 weeks later
Visa organised - US consulate interview takes place   5-10 weeks later
  DEPART!

APPLYING FOR WORK USA OLD SCHOOL (3 month option)

Eligibility

To apply for IEP’s Work USA Old School program, applicants must have working rights for the USA. To be eligible for the USA Student Work and Travel Visa you must be verified by your tertiary institution as:

  • Currently enrolled in a full time tertiary university or TAFE course, and have completed at least one year of your course.

When applying to the Work USA Old School program you are required to submit your online application form with your completed Program Agreement, which includes the student status form that is to be signed and stamped by your tertiary register or student administration officer.

Once this paperwork has been assessed IEP can then begin the process of organising your visa.  To apply you must:

These forms must then be sent to IEP with:

  • Your payment
  • A copy of your passport
  • A copy of your student ID card (both front and back)
  • Previous J1 visas copies (if applicable)
  • Job Offer letter (if applicable)

OTHER COSTS TO CONSIDER:

  • US visa: $250.25 approx. (please confirm current visa fees when applying)
  • SEVIS and visa photos: Approximately $40+ approx.
  • Proof of funds (US$):
    • Work USA Old School: $600-1000
