skiing destinations, attracting investors and multimilliondollar ski resorts equipped with the latest in chair-lift technology, snow-grooming systems and facilities.

Along with the big names like Aspen, Vail, Copper Mountain, Deer Valley and Taos are small operations with a handful of lifts, cheaper ticket prices and terrain that is often as challenging as that of their glitzier neighbours. Expect fantastic snow and very limited/expensive housing.
